Slam Court 3D Tips: Shootout, Match-Up & Dunks
Slam Court 3D has three modes, and each one rewards a different skill. Shootout is about clean, steady shooting against the clock, Match-Up tests your nerve against a rival, and the Dunk Contest is all about timing. This guide explains how points are scored in every mode and the habits that turn a decent run into a new best.

Find your power, then repeat it
Every shot is a swipe: the direction aims and the length sets the power. Most misses come from power, not aim, so change one thing at a time. After each shot, check the power bar, where a green line marks the perfect power for the shot you just took. Farther spots need a longer swipe. On a keyboard, hold Space to build power and use the Left and Right arrows to aim.
Shootout: chase swishes and money balls
You have 60 seconds to empty five racks of five balls. A basket scores 1 point and the money ball, the last ball on each rack, scores 2. Three swishes in a row, touching nothing but the net, set you on fire, and fire mode doubles every basket until you miss. A bank shot still counts, but it resets your swish streak.
Your player grabs the next ball and moves to the next rack by himself, so a steady rhythm beats panic. Fire is worth the most on money balls, which score 4 points while the flames are lit, so take extra care with the last ball of each rack.
Match-Up: put the rival under pressure
You start as the leader and shoot from a random spot. If your shot drops, the rival must make the same shot or take a strike, and three strikes lose the game. A missed lead shot costs no strike, but the lead passes to the other player. When you are the one matching, slow down and repeat the power and aim that worked. You score 2 points per basket, plus 15 for the win.
Dunk Contest: timing first, style second
You get four dunks, and three judges score each one from 1 to 10. Tap to jump at the right distance from the hoop: the game tells you Perfect, Good, Too early or Too late, and a badly timed jump makes the ball rim out, whatever trick you try. Then tap again to slam as the ring closes.
Add tricks right after takeoff, because the window is short. Swipe sideways for a 360, down for a windmill or up for a tomahawk, or use the arrow keys. A 360 can be combined with a windmill or a tomahawk, and 360 plus windmill impresses the judges most. Doing the trick the judges ask for earns a bonus.
