How to Win at Skate Flow: Tricks & Combo Tips

Skate Flow rewards style with points, but only if you land clean. Distance gives a steady trickle, while combos give the big numbers: every trick, grind and air in a line is added up and multiplied by the number of moves when you touch down. Three bails end the session, so smart risk is everything.

Match the trick to your airtime

Each flip takes time, and landing before it finishes is a bail. A shove-it is quick and safe on small ollies. A kickflip or heelflip needs a bit more height. The 360 flip scores the most but takes the longest, so only start it when you have plenty of air. Hold the ollie for extra height whenever you plan a bigger trick.

Use kickers for big air

Kickers launch you much higher than a normal ollie, which gives you time for two or three flips in one jump. Plan to arrive at a kicker ready to go, and use that airtime for your highest-scoring tricks. Big air also adds to your combo by itself, so a kicker jump is one of the best scoring chances on the course.

Join tricks with grinds

Land on a rail or ledge from above to grind it. Grinds add to your combo and link tricks together, so ollie off the end of a rail and flip to keep the line going. A long line of tricks and grinds is worth far more than the same moves landed one by one, because the whole total is multiplied by the number of moves.

Know when to cash in

Your combo only counts when you land on the ground cleanly. The longer the line, the more you have to lose if you bail. When a combo is already big and the next obstacle looks awkward, land and bank the points. Then start a new line. Three bails end the session, so do not throw away a big combo for one extra trick.

Avoid easy bails

Crashing into a cone or barrier counts as a bail, just like landing mid-flip. Watch ahead and ollie early enough to clear obstacles. If you bail because the flip was not finished, start your trick earlier in the jump or swap to a quicker trick such as a shove-it. Clean, steady runs beat wild ones over a full session.
