Drift King Tips: Bigger Combos & Better Laps
In Drift King, style wins. Your score comes from drifting at speed, boosted by a combo multiplier that climbs the longer you keep sliding, plus near-miss bonuses for skimming cones. Every race is three laps on one of five tracks, with a ghost of your best lap to chase. These tips help you drift longer, protect your combo and set faster laps.

Start the drift early
Hold the drift button just before you reach a corner, then steer into it. Starting early lets the car swing into a smooth slide and hold it through the whole bend. Starting late forces a sharp turn that often sends you off the asphalt. Gentle steering during the drift keeps the angle steady.
Build the multiplier
The combo multiplier rises for every second and a half or so of continuous drifting, up to x5. Points also grow with speed and drift angle. Linking corners together without straightening up keeps the multiplier climbing, so on twisty sections flick from one slide straight into the next. A wide, steady slide earns points faster than a shallow one.
Bank your points
Drift points are added to your score once you stop drifting for a moment. Going off the road or hitting a cone ends the combo and loses the points you were building. On a long combo, if a risky section is coming up, straighten up on the straight before it to bank the points safely. A drift that ends in the grass loses everything, so be patient on corner exits.
Earn near misses
Passing close to cones without touching them gives near-miss points. Pick a line that brushes past cones at the edge of a corner. Do not aim straight at them: one touch ends your combo, so a small gap is worth more than a scary one. Near misses also count toward an achievement for 12 in one race.
Learn each track
The five tracks differ in shape and grip. The snowy Frost Esses has less grip, so start drifts earlier there. Driving off the asphalt slows the car a lot, so a slightly tidier line is often faster overall. Use the ghost of your best lap to see where you gain or lose time. Try each track a few times before chasing a high score.
Questions
- What are the five tracks?
- Meadow Ring, Dune Hook, Frost Esses, Palm Bay and Neon Night, each with its own corners and grip.
- Do I need to brake?
- Rarely. The car accelerates by itself, but a short brake can help you set up a tight corner before drifting.
- How many laps is a race?
- Three laps. Your best lap time is saved, and the ghost replays it on your next race.
