Ninja Run

📖 Read the strategy guide ›

Ninja Run is a fast side-scrolling runner set on the rooftops of a neon city at night. Your ninja sprints on his own, so it's up to you to jump gaps, double jump over spikes, run up walls, slide under laser gates and throw stars at the robots in your way. Every run stitches together a new route that gets faster the farther you go. Grab golden scrolls for bonus points, stomp or zap robots, and see how many metres you can cover before your three hearts run out.

How to play

  1. Your ninja runs automatically from left to right.
  2. Jump over gaps and spikes, and press jump again in mid-air for a double jump.
  3. Run into a tall wall to wall-run up it, and jump during the wall-run to climb higher.
  4. Slide under laser gates and low flying drones.
  5. Throw stars to destroy robots, or land on top of them.
  6. Collect scrolls for bonus points; you have three hearts per run.

Controls

Computer
Space, W or Up arrow to jump (press twice to double jump), S or Down arrow to slide (or drop faster in the air), F, J or Enter to throw a star. Mouse click also jumps.
Phone and tablet
Tap the big arrow button on the right to jump (tap twice to double jump), the left button to slide, and the star button to throw stars. Tapping anywhere else on the screen also jumps.

Tips

  • Wall-running refreshes your double jump, so use walls to reach high rooftops.
  • Turrets need two stars; take them out from a distance before their bolts reach you.
  • Falling into a gap costs a heart, but you respawn on the next rooftop.

Questions

How do I wall-run?
Just run into a wall that is too tall to step over. Your ninja runs up it automatically for a moment; press jump during the wall-run to climb higher.
Is every run different?
Yes. The rooftops, gaps, robots and traps are put together from random chunks each run, and they get faster and trickier the farther you go.
