Target Throw Tips: How to Beat Every Stage

Target Throw is a pure timing game. A wooden log spins at the top of the screen and you throw arrows into it one at a time, but hitting an arrow already stuck in the log ends the run. Logs speed up, stop and reverse, and every fifth stage is a boss. These tips help you find safe gaps and keep the run going.

Throw when a gap passes

Your arrow always hits the bottom of the log, so the only question is when. Watch the bottom edge and throw just after a stuck arrow has passed, so the gap behind it arrives as your arrow lands. Arrows fly fast but not instantly, so on quick logs throw slightly earlier than feels natural. Never throw at the moment an arrow is directly at the bottom.

Read the log's rhythm

Many logs do not spin at a steady speed. Some slow down, some stop for a moment and some reverse direction. Before your first throw on a new stage, watch at least one full cycle of the movement. Pauses are the best time to throw, because the bottom of the log stays still and a gap is easy to hit.

Spread your arrows evenly

Each stage needs between six and eleven arrows, and boss logs need even more. If you bunch your first arrows together, the remaining space gets tight and the last throws become guesses. Aim to place each new arrow across from the last ones, filling the log evenly so wide gaps stay open until the end.

Pick up easy bonus points

Every arrow that sticks scores a point, and apples on the rim are worth three more. Hit an apple only when it sits in a safe gap, because no bonus is worth ending the run. Some logs start with arrows already stuck in them, so look for those before you throw. A quick double tap queues a second throw, so tap once and wait.

Beat the bosses

Every fifth stage is a boss log with its own face, a bigger target and trickier moves. Bosses need more arrows than normal logs, so patience and even spacing matter most here. Clearing a boss gives ten bonus points on top of your arrows, and later stages after a boss spin faster, so take a breath before you continue.

Questions

How many arrows does each stage need?
Normal stages start at six arrows and grow to eleven. Boss logs start at nine and grow to fourteen.
Do logs get faster?
Yes. Each stage spins a little faster, and later logs mix in sudden stops and reversals.
What happens if I tap twice quickly?
The second tap is remembered and thrown as soon as the first arrow lands, so avoid double taps unless you mean them.
