Ring Rush is a friendly cartoon boxing game about timing and reading your rival. Every opponent shows a tell before they swing: a glove pulls back and glows. Dodge hooks the other way, dodge uppercuts, block jabs and then punish them while they see stars. Jabs are quick and cheap, hooks hit hard but use more stamina. Win by knockout or on points over three rounds and climb a ladder of five boxers, each faster and trickier than the last.
How to play
- Watch your opponent for a glowing glove. That is the punch about to come.
- Dodge a hook toward the side away from the glowing glove, and dodge uppercuts either way.
- Hold block to soak up jabs and hooks, but blocking cannot stop an uppercut.
- After a successful dodge the rival is dizzy, so hit back with a hook for a counter.
- Knock them out or lead on points after 3 rounds to face the next opponent.
Controls
- Computer
- Left and Right arrows to dodge, Up or J to jab, Space or K to hook, hold Down or S to block. Esc or P pauses.
- Phone and tablet
- Use the five buttons at the bottom: dodge left, jab, block (hold), hook and dodge right. You can also swipe left or right on the screen to dodge.
Tips
- Do not punch into a raised guard. Wait until the gloves drop or the rival is dizzy.
- Watch your stamina bar. A tired boxer cannot throw hooks.
- Later opponents fake their attacks, so wait for the glove to really move before you dodge.
Questions
- Is Ring Rush violent?
- No. It is a cartoon sport game with bouncy gloves, stars and dizzy spirals. There is no blood or injury.
- What happens after three rounds?
- If nobody is knocked out, the judges decide. You win if you have more of your health left, in proportion, than your opponent.
