How to Win at Ring Rush: Boxing Tips & Strategy

Ring Rush is a boxing game about patience and reading your rival, not mashing buttons. Every opponent shows a tell before they swing, and the biggest damage comes from counters after a good dodge. Here is how to defend, attack at the right moments and climb the ladder past all five boxers.

Read the glowing glove

Before every punch, one of your opponent's gloves pulls back and glows. That is your warning. For a hook, dodge toward the side away from the glowing glove. Uppercuts can be dodged either way. Later boxers fake their attacks, so wait until the glove really moves before you commit, or you will dodge straight into the real punch.

Know what blocking can do

Holding block soaks up jabs and hooks, which is useful when you are unsure which way to move. But blocking cannot stop an uppercut, so against an uppercut tell, dodge instead. Blocking also does not create a counter chance, so treat it as a back-up rather than your main defence.

Counter when they are dizzy

After a successful dodge your rival is dizzy and open. This is the moment to strike back with a hook, which lands as a counter for big damage. Do not punch into a raised guard at other times, as it wastes stamina. The rhythm that wins fights is simple: wait, dodge, counter, reset.

Be patient between exchanges. If the rival is guarding and showing no tell, there is no need to throw anything. Let them make the first move, read the glove, and punish the mistake. Throwing first against a raised guard only drains your stamina.

Manage your stamina

Jabs are quick and cheap, and hooks hit hard but use more stamina. Watch the stamina bar, because a tired boxer cannot throw hooks at all. Use jabs to chip away when the guard drops, and save your stamina for the hooks you throw as counters. Running dry just as your rival goes dizzy wastes the best chance of the round.

Win by knockout or on points

If nobody is knocked out after three rounds, the judges decide, and you win if you have more of your health left, in proportion, than your opponent. That means clean defence matters as much as attack. Against tougher boxers, avoiding damage and landing a few safe counters can be enough to win the decision.
