Mahjong Solitaire is the classic tile-matching puzzle for one player. Beautifully drawn tiles (circles, bamboo, characters, winds, dragons, flowers and seasons) are stacked into a layout, and you clear it by removing identical pairs. Only free tiles can be picked: nothing may lie on top and their left or right side must be open. Choose from five layouts, from the quick Garden to the classic 144-tile Turtle. Every deal is solvable, and Hint, Shuffle and Undo help when you get stuck.

- Free the tall stacks and the long rows first: tiles buried in the middle are the ones that block you at the end.
- When three copies of a tile are free, think about which pair to take so the fourth copy is not trapped under another tile.
- Keep Highlight free tiles on while you learn: blocked tiles are shaded so the playable ones stand out.
Questions
- Can every game be solved?
- Yes. Each deal is built backwards from an empty table, so there is always at least one way to clear it. Your choices can still lead to a dead end, which is what Undo and Shuffle are for.
- What do the different layouts change?
- They change the number of tiles and how they are stacked: Garden has 60 tiles and is quick, while the classic Turtle has all 144 tiles stacked five levels high.
- How is the score calculated?
- Each pair gives 10 points (20 for flowers and seasons), quick matches add a combo bonus, and clearing the board adds a bonus for finishing fast. Hints and shuffles cost a few points.
