Ocho

Plateau et cartes

Ocho is a fast colour-matching shedding game for 2 to 4 players. Play a card that matches the colour, number or symbol on the pile, slow your rivals down with Skip, Reverse and +2 cards, and switch colour with wilds. When you are down to one card, tap “Last card!” before the next player acts, or a rival can catch you and make you draw two. Empty your hand first to win the round and score the cards left in other hands. Play against up to three computer players, with friends on one device, or online.

Astuces

  • Keep your wild cards for when you are stuck or about to go out: they are worth 50 points against you if you are caught holding them.
  • When the next player is down to one or two cards, hit them with a Skip, Reverse or +2.
  • Press “Last card!” before you play your second-to-last card so you never forget, and watch for rivals who forget so you can catch them.

Questions

How are points scored?
The winner of a round scores the cards left in the other hands: number cards count their face value, Skip, Reverse and +2 count 20 and wild cards count 50. The first player to reach 550 points wins the match, or play a single round.
What happens if I forget to call “Last card!”?
If a rival catches you before the next player acts, you draw two cards. You can still tap the button late, as long as nobody has caught you yet.
What does the stacking option do?
With stacking on, you can answer a +2 with another +2 or a +4, or a +4 with a +4. The next player who cannot stack draws the whole total.
