Big Swing

📖 Read the strategy guide ›

Big Swing is a home run derby under the stadium lights. The pitcher mixes fastballs, curveballs and change-ups, and you have to tap the ball just as it reaches the strike zone. Your timing decides the direction and where you tap decides how high it flies. Clear the fence for distance points, chain home runs for a growing combo and hit the target number before you make ten outs to reach the next, faster round.

How to play

  1. Watch the pitch type that flashes as the ball is thrown.
  2. Tap the ball just as it crosses the strike zone.
  3. Tapping early pulls the ball, tapping late pushes it. Hit it near the middle of the ball for a perfect launch.
  4. Anything that is not a home run is an out. Taking a strike is an out too, but a ball outside the zone is not.
  5. Hit enough home runs before 10 outs to move on to the next round.

Controls

Computer
Move the bat with the mouse or the arrow keys and click or press Space to swing.
Phone and tablet
Tap the ball as it reaches the zone. Where you tap is where the bat meets the ball.

Tips

  • Change-ups look like fastballs but arrive later, so be patient.
  • Let balls outside the dashed zone go by: they do not count as outs.
  • Hitting several home runs in a row raises your combo multiplier.

Questions

How is the score calculated?
Every home run scores its distance in metres times your combo multiplier, and clearing a round adds a bonus.
How far can I hit the ball?
A perfectly timed, centred swing on a fastball can fly over 150 metres.
