Tank Duel Tips: Win Every Maze Battle

Tank Duel is quick, chaotic and full of bouncing shells. Each round brings a new maze, and the first to win five rounds takes the match. Every shell ricochets off walls and can hit any tank, including yours. These tips cover bank shots, staying safe from your own fire and outplaying both the CPU and a friend.

Bank shots around corners

Shells bounce off walls, so you can hit a tank you cannot see. Aim at a wall at an angle that sends the shell around the corner toward your rival. Practise simple one-bounce shots first. A bank shot is safer than a direct duel, because your rival has no clear line to fire back.

Fear your own shells

A shell keeps bouncing for several seconds and can come back at you. Never fire straight into a nearby wall, and move away after firing in a tight corridor. Watch every shell on the screen, not only your rival's. Many rounds are lost to a player's own ricochet. Firing while moving away from a wall is much safer than firing toward it.

Make your shells count

Each tank can only have five shells out at once. Firing wildly leaves you empty when your rival appears. Fire in short, aimed bursts, and keep a shell or two in reserve. When the screen is full of bouncing shells, staying still in a safe spot is often smarter than firing more. Old shells vanish after a few seconds, so your supply comes back quickly.

Use the maze

Each round has a new maze, so take a second to read it. Corridors are dangerous because shells bounce straight back along them. Open areas give room to dodge. Approach corners at an angle so you see your rival before they see you, and keep a wall between you when you are out of shells. Dead ends are traps, since shells can bounce around inside them.

Beat the CPU and friends

The Easy CPU is a gentle opponent for practising bank shots. The Hard CPU hunts you through the maze and aims well, so use bounces to hit it from cover. In 2 Players mode, both players share one keyboard or one phone, so learn your own keys: Player 1 uses WASD and F, Player 2 the arrows and Enter.
