Island Bridges is a calm logic puzzle set on a sunny sea. Every island shows a number, and your job is to build exactly that many bridges from it. Bridges run straight across the water, you can build one or two between a pair of islands, they can never cross, and in the end every island must be joined into one network. Levels are generated fresh and always have a solution, growing from tiny 5x5 lagoons to big 10x10 archipelagos.
How to play
- Pick a level on the title screen and press Play.
- Drag from an island toward a neighbour to build a bridge; repeat for a double bridge, once more to remove it.
- Each island needs exactly as many bridges as its number. Satisfied islands turn green.
- Bridges cannot cross each other.
- Connect every island into one group to solve the level and unlock the next.
Controls
- Computer
- Drag between islands with the mouse, or click one island and then a neighbour. With the keyboard, use the arrows to move between islands, press Space then an arrow to build in that direction. Z undoes, H gives a hint, R restarts.
- Phone and tablet
- Swipe from an island toward a neighbour, or tap two islands in turn. Tap a bridge to change it. Use the Undo, Hint and Restart buttons below the board.
Tips
- Start with islands whose number forces every possible bridge, like a 4 in a corner or an 8 in the middle.
- A 1 next to another 1 can never be joined to it, or both would be cut off.
- When you are stuck, look for bridges that would otherwise cross the only route to an island.
Questions
- Are the levels always solvable?
- Yes. Each level is built from a complete solution, so there is always a way to satisfy every island.
- How is the score worked out?
- You earn 100 points per level number plus a speed bonus, minus a little for each hint you use.
