Castle Guard is a colourful tower defense game you can play right in your browser. Monsters march along a winding road toward your castle, and it is your job to stop them. Place Archer, Cannon, Frost and Storm towers on the grass, upgrade them as coins roll in and survive all 20 waves. Fast runners, armoured knights, flying bats and huge bosses each need a different plan, and three maps, from a gentle meadow to a frozen pass, test every strategy.
How to play
- Pick a map: Easy, Normal or Hard.
- Tap a free grass tile, then tap a tower to build it there.
- Press the wave button to send the next wave, or wait for the countdown.
- Defeat enemies to earn coins, then tap a tower to upgrade or sell it.
- Survive all 20 waves before the enemies get through your castle gate.
Controls
- Computer
- Click a tile and a tower card to build. Arrow keys move the cursor, 1-4 build a tower, U upgrades, S sells, Space or N starts the next wave and F changes the game speed.
- Phone and tablet
- Tap a free tile, then tap a tower card to build. Tap a tower to upgrade or sell it, and use the buttons to start waves and speed up the game.
Tips
- Cannons cannot hit flying bats, so keep Archer, Frost or Storm towers near the road.
- Frost towers slow everything nearby, which gives your other towers more time to hit.
- Calling the next wave early gives bonus coins, but only do it when your defence is strong.

- Which tower is best against armoured knights?
- Storm towers ignore armour completely, and fully upgraded Cannons also hit hard enough to break through it.
- What happens when enemies reach the castle?
- You lose one life for each enemy, and five for a boss. The game ends when all 20 lives are gone.
