How to Win at Hoop Shot: Basketball Tips & Strategy

Hoop Shot looks like a simple one-minute shootout, but the best scores come from knowing how points and time really work. Every basket wins back a little time, streaks multiply your points and swishes are worth extra. Here is how to keep the ball dropping and the clock ticking.

How scoring works

A normal basket is worth 2 points and a long shot is worth 3. A swish, where the ball drops through without touching the rim, adds one more point. Each basket in a row raises your multiplier, up to five times, so a long run of makes is worth far more than a few lucky long bombs.

Protect your streak

A miss resets the streak to zero, and with it your multiplier. That is why accuracy beats risk: five steady baskets in a row score more than a mix of spectacular shots and misses. Once you are on fire, keep doing exactly what has been working and resist the urge to speed up.

Buy yourself more time

The clock starts at 60 seconds, but it is not fixed. Every basket adds a second back and a swish adds two, up to the full minute. A good streak keeps you shooting well past the first minute, while a run of misses lets the clock drain fast. Every shot is both points and time.

Find a repeatable flick

Smooth, steady flicks are more accurate than fast, wild ones. Try to use the same length and speed of flick each time and change only one thing after a miss, either strength or direction. On a keyboard, aiming with the arrow keys and pressing Space gives very consistent shots.

If you prefer flicking, start your swipe from the ball itself and push straight toward the rim. Sideways drift in your finger or mouse is the most common reason a shot rattles off one side of the rim instead of dropping cleanly through.

Handle the level-ups

Every four baskets the game levels up and the ball starts appearing further from the hoop. Those longer shots are where the 3-pointers come from, but they need a slightly stronger flick. When the ball appears in a new spot, take a breath and judge the distance rather than firing at once.

Questions

Do baskets add time to the clock?
Yes. Each basket adds one second and a swish adds two, up to 60 seconds.
What is the highest multiplier?
Your streak multiplies points up to five times. A miss resets it.
Why do my shots fall short later in a round?
The ball moves further from the hoop as you level up. Flick a little harder.
